Question Help Emission Warning Light On.....?

Had mine come on today...

Car still drives fine, I have the Hartge + Full Milltek System + CAT fitted 6mths ago..

I have it booked into the dealers the end of next week, any ideas.is the cat buggered ??

Is there anyway of resetting / rebooting the system to see if the problem goes away..

You won't know what fault code was recorded until the dealer uses their scan tool to read the fault codes. There are many MANY different possibilities that can cause the light to come on. You can usually rest assured that if the engine is still running fine, it's probably something minor.

There is no way for you to reset it. There is logic built in so that if the fault that triggered the light is no longer detected (i.e. if it goes away on its own) then the light will eventually be turned off after a certain number of engine starts. The code however will remain in memory to be accessed by the dealer scan tool.

One thing to check is to make sure your gas cap is seated properly. I had the light come on in our Subaru 2.5RS and removing the cap then returning it has solved the problem.

Thanks, I did notice that the dipstick wasnt seated correctly, would that cause a problem...?

I suppose i might go off before I go to the dealer...

Cheers,

Mick
