shaking at low speed

I've noticed that my beloved Mini Cooper (2003 base model) shakes when I drive at really slow speeds. Under 40km. At first, I thought it could be normal. Then I thought...well, just in case, I'll ask about it here. Is it normal? It doesn't happen all the time. Just sometimes. Maybe 50% of the time I drive at that slow speed.

I think that this might be a varient of the yo-yo effect. I have just got a new mini and I have it also. There has been much discussion about it on M2 so just try a search for "yoyo" etc.

A solution is that the dealer may be able to upgrade the system software of your engine. Thats my plan!

I just called the dealership and spoke with the service department. I was told the software upgrade is only for the S model. I was also told that the shaking problem was already fixed by the time the 2003 Coopers (non S) came out and doesn't apply to the CVTs. In fact, the CVTs shoudl shake a bit and it will tak eme time to get used to it. Yikes! I sense an adventure coming.
