Suspension top mount problem!

After taking my strut brace off and replacing the 3 nuts surrounding the main suspension mount i crossed the threads on one of the bolts , i kept tightening it anddddd the whole thing snapped , i an now left with 2 secure bolts and one loose one , i am told i need to replace my top mount , if anyone here actually knows what im talking about (as i dont!) can you tell me how serious it is?

Just read your reply in the other thread about having a few probs, so thought I'd reply here
Although I can't really offer any informed advice
Apart from asking your dealer to look at this loose bolt in the engine bay?
Just say I have no idea how it happened and I have had no aftermarket work done, honest officer

This might be total bo**ocks but I'll say it anyway.
Is it just a nut and bolt that hold the top suspension in?
How about getting a slightly bigger bolt and nut and drilling a bigger diameter hole. Then fitting the new bolt and nut. One new bolt, two original ones?
Sort of like drilling and tapping the sump of an old mini, when the sump plug rots and rusts.
