DIY Heated front screen not working

Had the first frost of the year on my MINI this morning, so with much joy I rushed out to try my Heated Windscreen.

The Bloody thing didn't work,
The light comes on in the button, 50 to 60 seconds later it times out and switches off, but it doesn't clear the screen.(nothing)

Not sure it's a faulty fuse because the light on the button lights up, but I had a quick look at lunch time today, alas I couldn't find the one for the screen (never seen so many fuses on a car) any one out there got a clue what fuse it is?

Any one out there got any Idea's at all?

I've booked the car in to be looked at, but I want to have a quick look incase it's something really simple, Don't want to look too stupid at the dealers

Thanks
Mick

I found that the fuse/relay under the bonet in a box near the air filter was missing when I got mine in Jan this year. 5 mins for them to fix on my car. Hope that will fix yours.

Thanks for the reply, I'll have another look in that fuse box tomorrow and see what I can see.

Byrnie, you’re a star.
Had another look today and the 50Amp fuse for the heated screen was missing. (Under the bonnet)
Proved it was just the missing fuse by substitution of the headlight fuse.
Called into the dealers to explain the problem and to cancel the car been booked in. (not really needed for a missing fuse)
They didn't have any of these fuses in stock, but will have one for me tomorrow.

Thanks once again

Mick

Mick,

No problem - my dealer did the same thing and kindly nicked the fuse from one of their cars (and replaced it later before anyone worries about getting that car!).

Glad that it helped.

Si
