Is it very bad, or is just chips or similar that could be caused by a ring on your/your passenger's hand?

no I dont use rings or any one that had ever drive my mini, is just pealing, I heard that in the 2002 minis happened in the center console, I have to say that is a very cheap material without any protection.

I will go to the dealer and hopely I will have with garantie.

Should be covered under Guarantee no problem....

I have heard before of the manufacturers of interior products for cars spraying faulty parts and sending them into production (I know it happens at Nissan), apparantely the penalties are less for poor quailty than they are for stopping the production line, hence they sometimes send botched ones in when they've had production problems... maybe thats the case here ?...
