Question Broken window and trim, need advice.

A week ago, some hooligan(s) smashed my driver side rear quarter panel of glass. they appeared to have attempted to use a crow bar to try and pry the window off before giving in and smashing it. Anyway, the black plastic trim that goes all around the car between the roof and body and totally bent and the vertical plastic piece that is between the front and rear windows is totally broken.

is this going to negatively affect the car? or are these pieces purely for aesthetic purposes? just need to know if i need to get it fixed now or if it can wait until my next service appt (i live 250 miles from the dealership). i already had the window replaced. thanks!

The good thing about the MINI is that some of the plastic trim is relatively cheap to purchase and fix.

There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all.

Agreed; I smashed the plastic trim under the back bumper by reversing into a v high curb; i was gutted but at least it was my own fault (if that makes sense). Just had to have to central plastic insert replaced as had smashed the screw holes for the undertray; part was bout £11, labour for fitting it about £90. Ouch.

Hope the car gets fixed up okay
