It just pulls off. The top (reflector) part snaps on and the base is gently pried off. A common problem has been the reflector falling off of their bases but a (very small) dab of crazy glue solves that. Hope that helps. |

| My 2003 Cooper has been back three times for the same problem along with a rattling boot lock. The last time it went back they told me not to expect BMW build quality and that they could not find anything wrong with the car. They advised me to take another Mini out for a test drive so that I could understand that what I am hearing is apparent on all Minis. Hope you have better luck than me, i've decided to give up and just try and put up with the sound that my door panel is going to drop off at any moment!! |

| Check this thread: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...ht=door+rattle It explains how to fix it youself. It is easy but you could point your dealer to the thread and ask them to fix it. My dealer had two attempts and failed to fix it. I've been in three MINIs for a decent period of time. My own and two I had on loan, all these MINIs had this fault. |

| I'm not sure what they did exactly. They most likely took the door panel off and padded out the areas where plastic meets metal and around the plastic clips (I know the clips should now have rubber washers). It's more or less quiet now, it sometimes plays up when the weather is cold, but it's not that noticeable. These cars are very prone to rattles, the stiff suspension is a factor in this. But it does annoy me that a bit of padding wasn't added at the factory, the rattles can be prevented. It would have made the ownership experience much happier. I know some people say they have had rattle free cars, but I wonder what the road surfaces are like where they drive. Some of the roads around here are in a shocking state, if they don't rattle on them I'd be very surprised. Anyway I'm going off on one! My dealer is Sytner Sheffield. They've been good to me so far. |
