Wonky wing mirrors?

I've had my fair share of niggly faults on my August-build Cooper, all of which I've read about on this site. What about this one, though? I went over a fairly puny little speed bump a few days ago and my near-side wing mirror fell off! I know that nothing had hit it as a few minutes earlier I'd folded it out (and it was stiff). It also had no marks on it to indicate that it had been clipped by something or someone. My dealer is replacing it and noticed that the part number has recently changed.... indicating that they have modified the part after seeing the need for improvement.

Am I on my own here, or has anyone else had this problem, and maybe thought that someone had clipped their car while it was parked?

Got a very wobbly wing mirror on the passenger side. Needs replacing, but the car is due to be swapped next week, so won't bother. Our dealer did acknowledge that they had seen a few 'wobbly' ones..
