Turning on overhead interior lights

I'm posting this tip because, although it is in the owner's manual, it is easily overlooked, as I have noted due to queries from other new owners.

It seems that a lot of the new MINIs are being delivered with the overhead interior lights set in the "permanently off" position, meaning they do NOT come on with the doors are opened. The lights are not broken. The setting can be changed by simply pressing and holding the center button in the overlight lights console until the lights flash. They are then set to turn on when the doors open.

Happy Motoring!

Good tip. Mine have always worked fine but I have read on here about 'broken' ones.

Probably cos when stacked together onboard the ship to the States the drivers doors are not fully shut(first click only) in case they gotta get em ashore in an emergency,so as the interior light would be on,resulting in hundreds of flat batteries. So they disable em.

It's enough to drive ya to drink
