United-Kingdom V36 just for automatics?

I've just had my Mini Cooper (manual) 52 plate back from it's 25000 mile service today - I asked them to look at the lumpy cold start with occasional stalling & yo yo-ing problem but they say they can't find anything wrong. I mentioned that i'd read about the V36 software mod but they said this was only for the automatic and not the manual.
Is this the case? I've had a look through the V36 threads but can't seem to find a firm answer to this one.
