| The problem went from intermittent to worse for me. Following advice I saw somewhere on MINI2, I opened the hatch and used a Philips screwdriver to tighten the screws inside the two small black rubber bumpers on either side of the hatch closure. That seemed to be where the sensor is located. Problem solved. I doubt there is any risk of overtightening those screws. 04 BRG/W MCS |

| i did like this as stated in TIS... unscrew the bolts on the lock so it moves around a bit. Turn the key on and you will see the red light on ( boot open ) close the boot without using great force, is the light still on ? if it is move the lock up a bit close again until the light turns of. open boot and tighten the screws. Adjust the ruber on both sides also so you dont have any anoying noises from the boot. most important thing here is that the u shaped metal goes in to the center of the lock. If not adjust the U metal lock. This weekend we are going to adjust all the small things that is stated in techical infomation system and i will post the most common foults on the car. |
