water and bugs in s supercharger intake??????

well i wanted to wash my new s today. i went to one of those brushless carwashes. yes it was brushless but it shot high pressure water all over my car. including right up into the surecharger slot. when the carwash was over smoke was pouring out of my supercharger vent. it went away after a few minutes. is this bad. did i ruin my engine? it can't be that bad. what if someone is on the freeway and it is pouring rain? a ton of water would get in there anyway right? also when i lifted up my bonnet i noticed alot of flies (we get these mayflies up here in cleveland) stuck in the supercharger air intake. and by the time mayfly season is over and after all the mosquitoes in the summer the air intake is going to be completely plugged up with bugs and flies. why is there not a filter for this? is there and after market filter? do i just pick out the flies with tweasers. or should i just leave it alone and just let it collect bugs. what should i do?

Just water will not hurt the intercooler. That's what's behind the scoop, not the supercharger. It's steam, not smoke.
High pressure water could bend fins on the IC. I avoid them.

You're stuck with the flies I just use an old wheel brush and use it to flick the bugs out of the IC fins. You'll find all kinds of crap in there over time.
A filter is a bad idea, don't even think about it.
I pull the IC and reverse flush the fins once a year. It's actually been 14 months or so since the last time I did it and it's not bad.
You really want to make sure you're comfortable with this. Honestly there are probably people with 30K miles on their car that don't even worry about it and they've been fine.

At least flush it with a low pressure shower type spray when you Hand Wash your car

We have bad bugs in the vally here in CA. I bought this to keep the bugs out and it helps BIG TIME! And it looks cool. In fact you can see bugs in the lower grill.
