Red Cooper Strange electrical problems...anyone else had same?

Hello All!

I've been searching the posts but haven't yet found anyone with the same problems my sick MINI Cooper '04 Chili Red (aka Ladybug) has had.

2-3 months ago....

Symptoms (In order of appearance):
1. Turn signal 'click' out of normal rhythm (click, click, clicliclick, ......click) when turning either direction
2. the swingin' Sirius satellite radio display (factory install) freezes (on the worst station, mind you) and the display doesn't change, though you can still switch stations (and not know on which of the 100+ stations you are tuned to)
3. The Auto A/C decided when it wants to work, sometimes recirculate, sometimes not, sometimes no a/c at all, sometimes high fan all of a sudden, overall erratic behavior.
4. The dashboard lights, either all, or just the stereo lights, or just everything but the stereo lights are off. Turn the car off and next time they come on again.
5. The window just doesn't want to roll up; no, wait, it does. No, wait, it doesn't.
6. The stereo just gives up. No sound anymore. Must return to cds and continue to pay monthly rate to Sirius.

So I took ms. ladybug to the dealer and their solution was to replace the 'brain' of the car. Can't remember what the part is called, but I have the paperwork at home; will post later.

All was running fine til 2 weeks ago...

Symptoms:
1. that same turn signal click out of sync
2. the dash lights off and on again
3. the stereo display frozen on the last station
4. the a/c not as cold; the recirculate on/off on its own

and finally, the day it was destined for the service department, it would not start at all. The lights all flashed a few times, the car went 'click, click, click' but never turned over when we tried to start it, and now it's waiting for a tow truck to take it to the shop.

Has anyone experienced something similar???

Thanks,

Janette

Update:

I used MINI roadside assistance to tow my car to Houston SW Momentum MINI. While reading the repairs done last time my car was serviced, the service person who processed my paperwork made some faces that made me feel like my ladybug was a sick one indeed. On the bright side, I have a BMW 325 rental for the weekend.
