I just picked up my new Cooper S and am noticing a the smell of burning rubber every time I get out of the car after a long drive. I am going pretty fast, but nothing out of the ordinary. Has anyone had a similar experience?
That should be normal thats just the protective layer of whatever its called (*I forgot*) under the car to protect it when its traveling over the atlantic ocean and now its being burned off...
And it can also be your exhast system breaking in. All of my new cars have had a sulfur burning smell for the first couple hundred miles after I have cut the engine.
Try and take it a bit easier until it is broken in. Don't spinn the tires so much. If you keep up this rate the tires won't last thru the breakin period.
Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!!
