Question Seat back come off!!

Chaps. First post from me so "Hello"!

The driver's seat back has come away on my 3 month old MCS. Ayone else had this problem? Is it ieasy for garage to fix. Pretty shi# considering how new it is!!

Also, what are people's experience of oil consumption and tyre pressure. I've put 2500 miles on it now and haven't got round to checking oil and tyres yet (!) but in your experience do they tend turn burn oil or do the runflats drop pressure quickly. They certainly don't feel very flat as they are still shaking the fillings out of my skull!!

Great motor though.

Nice nice.

This happened to us the day we picked our car up. They jiggled it about in the service area and thought it was fixed. We ended up taking it back a couple of days later to have a new seat back fitted. The dealer was good about it and said if it didn't sort the problem out they would fit a whole new seat for us. New back did the trick though.

The back of my seat popped off the other day too.

If you pull the seat back a little and look down inside the seat you'll see two metal clip about halfway down, just riddle the seat back back into position, feeling for the clips to locate then give the seat back a good old smack around the position of the clips. Should then just go back into place.

Well mine did..

I've had my new (used '03, 11K) for about a week. If it wasn't for the fact that I just love this car, I would have returned it already. I mean if you look at my post here in the last few days you'll know what I mean.

Oh well, just gotta love this car ........ my passenger seatback is coming off also. Oh man, what am I in for

Cheers chaps. I'll have to call and book an appointment. I take it no-one has a clue about oil and tyre pressures then? Looks like I'll have to get off my ass and take a look myself. Surely you can pay a man to do such things!!!

.

Er....I do....

Oil Consumption......negligible......check mine once every two weeks......no change in level in 20k miles!

Tyre Pressures........check mine every two weeks, when tyres are cold. Mine are inflated to 32psi all round......they usually drop to 29.0 - 29.5 psi every so often. Now need new tyres on the front @ 20k miles, I have not rotated my wheels......gives an indication to how I drive.......

Hope this helps.....??

Robert

oil consumption - on mine it was far higher than normal for the first few thousand miles, then it hasn't used any at all up to its current 30,000 mile mark. This is normal apparently.
