Abi's MINI fault list... update....

Ah well, we're getting there.

Along with the earlier fixes...

Windscreen replaced, so no more crack or trim falling off of the top.

Folded card removed (put there by me) and dash rattle fixed properly.

Still waiting on updated software for the body ECU programming, but slowly but surely it's getting there! Shame it wasn't 'there' when we collected it!

I have to say that Elms MINI in Bedford (despite the odd remark which could be taken the wrong way (such as abosrbing costs for things which should be done under warranty or before we collect it anyway)) have been really good with Abi. They've always collected the car, and left Abi with another MINI as a loan car, so hats off to them. Sure the pressures on with me running this website, and the fact we've bought a MINI One and have a Cooper S on order (and I've still got to get me a MINI), but they have been very good at fixing stuff!

One interesting thing. Our crack was by the VIN in the windscreen. When they came to collect the car they said something like 'Oh, I expected it to be down the centre' and 'we've replaced a lot of those'. Hmmm....

Paul

It's very disappointing that you & Abi have had a duff car

Let's hope the high profile of your case adds the pressure on BMW to sort their act out on product quality

And, let's hope the generally good experience you have had with the rectification of the faults sets a minimum standard for any other MINI owner who has any faults with their car

There's a lot of us watching with interest and with one eye on more trouble-free ways to get motoring

Cooper S, Jet Black w/ white roof, silver 16" X-Lite wheels, DSC, MFSW, dark tinted windows

...It's here & I love it!

Hi Paul,
Sorry if this has been posted before and I missed it. Where was your dash rattling and where did you place the card? I have an on and off rattle and if I could stop it with card I would and then the dealers would at least be told to look in the right place.
Thanks

Sorry to hear about your peoblems Paul

I have had my screen replaced twice now and the dash rattle is getting worse I'm thinking of putting a strip of rubber into a small gap where the dash meets the glass and see if this helps
