| Gear Lever Rubbery Sound When changing from 2nd to either 3rd or 1st gear, my Feb02 Cooper has started to make a rubbery squeaky sound that comes from the gear lever. Has anyone else noticed this problem? I took the leather cover off the lever and lubricated all the bits I could see but it didn't help. Any ideas anyone? | I have exactly the same issue-its on gears 1,3 and 5. Tried lubricrating also. I have a feeling its on the engine side and being transmitted down the linkage as it get better as the engine gets warmer. Another post mentioned it may be the linkage so will start here. |
