Got my first window chip today

After only two months! All these dang rocks on the road. Anyways the insurance company says they pay to have the chip fixed as long as they whole window doesn't need to be replaced. Its pretty tiny. Will see what happens.

Well, at least it wasn't your own fault. I had to replace the entire front window because I pressed too hard against the front window of my MCS while trying to hide the wire to my GPS receiver. Good thing there's something as an insurance that didn't ask who's fault it was, they payed it for me. I hope all will end well with your chip.

I only had my telephone camera with me, but this is what it looks like having no front window, at the top the rain sensor hangs by it's wire.

It's aweful feeling I know! A few months ago I had to have my old Cooper's front totally resprayed and have a new windscreen installed, because a truck transporting gravel passed me and gravel hit the whole front. My insurance company is too happy to pay for the stone chips to be repaired - I don't even have to phone them. I just call out the repair centre, fill out a form and it's taken care off. Hang in there.... unfortunately there's more coming, but it's one of those things that happen.

Saw a new Lambo at an exotics dealership 2 weeks ago... it's got 4000km's on the clock and the car is ridden with stone chips on the front.... it's horrifying!!!!

I've recently had a replacement windscreen through what sounded like a rock (possibly just a small stone and heavy accelerator foot...)

In the UK its a standard £50 fee to claim on your insurance and no effect to your No Claims Discount - which is good seeing how crappy some of the motorways are in this country.

The bit that surprised/shocked me was when a slight bit of pressure was placed on the window for its removal, the cracks spread from the impact point and covered the entire window! Very glad I had not decided to put it off until later.
