 Engine Electronics Failure
Hi...I have a 2002 Cooper that has been a great car, except that the Engine Electronics (EML Light) failed intermittently at just after the European warranty. I am told from friends in Germany that it was widely known that the Electronic Engine Controllers on 2002 Mini's were pretty much garbage, disabling at temperatures below 5C with high humidity, and German buyers have made a habit of replacing them. Mini GMbH categorically refuses to issue a recall though in Germany people are pushing for one...anyone hear of this in teh US? I'm paying to replace the module now. |
