H-Sport springs are on, but so are the tire pressure warning light..

Hi!

I changed my original springs for H-Sport's, and I also installed a H-Sport Comp rear sway bar. This was done last Friday, and since then, the tire pressure warning light has come on twice. The pressure in the tires are OK. I "feel" the toe out are wrong, can this cause the problem? I haven't pushed the limits after the install, but if I'm 3-wheeling trough a corner, can this case the problem? Or my soft sided winter tires (215/45-17) takes so much stress in the side wall, so the system think I've got a flat tire?

I'm fixing the toe out problem during the week.

With just the rear bar - how do you know you have a rear toe issue? Are you sure you're just not used to the new [oversteer happy] suspension setup?

Not sure why your TPMS light is coming on - suspension mods make no impact on the TPMS. Did you actually check your tire pressures?

Cheers,
Ryan

3 wheeling would cause it, but I thought the light wouldn't go off until the difference in wheel speeds had gone on for a little while.... well, longer than you're going to have your car on 3 wheels for anyway!

That indicator works on the RPM of the wheels, as opposed to monitoring the volume or pressure of air in the tire. So, if a tire was flat, or going to that state, its circumference would differ from the rest, thus triggering the light that you might have an issue...

With that said, when one lowers their MINI, camber will change in the rear. With the tire not sitting on the ground as flat as it once did, this can make a difference in how the system perceives its RPM deltas.

I just rotated my tires where I have stock camber in the front, and probably 2 or so (neg) in the rear. After the rotation, I got that light, and I'm pretty sure the uneven wear had something to do with it...

My toe problem are in the front. Before the spring/bar job, I could let go of the steering wheel, and the car would go strait, but now it pull to the side. Sometimes to the right, and sometimes to the left.
Yes, I did check my tire pressures and they were OK.

Has anything happened to the traction sensors?
An errant wrench could have done some damage.
