I have had this on all three of my MINI's The first time it happened I took it back to the dealers who had the car for three days, looking at it. Apprently it happens to an extent on all MINIs and is due to the window being frameless, the same thing happens on the likes of the 3 series coupe. ![]()

Yea well there is something that needs to be done about it. I carry a dry cloth with me now to wipe off the interior of the window all the time now. I had frameless windows in my 1999 Cougar and I never had this problem with it.

i've been getting exactly the same on my Cooper for a while now and it's really starting to annoy me. Especially when the streak dries and then when the sun shines through the window (a rare occurance in England in February), you can't see out of it. Has anyone actually had BMW sort out the problem satisfactorily? - or is everyone fobbed off with the reply about it being because it's a frameless window?

Had the problem fixed and then it re-occurs about 3 weeks later, there ought to be a perminant solution to this, its down right dangerous when you cant see out of the windows properly or see your mirrors. The E36 3 series had framless windows and thats been on the go since about 1991, me can see someone having an accident due to this and BMW/Mini having a court case against them, surely there is a solution to this!!!? had this on both my MCS's, is this another characteristic like 95% of Minis having squeeks and rattles or the quality spotlamps that rust. Come on Mini you can do better than this youve had enough time now. Still love the car despite these silly niggles ![]()

Just took my MCS this monday for the streaks and the water on the inside of the windows. They said that the water is condensation and that the door does drain water properly but because its a frameless window that you will get some moisture on the inside of the window. Now for the streaks of grease I had them look at it as well and they took the door panels out and cleaned the grease that was getting on the windows when you rolled them down and well you can all guess that its back there not when I roll down the windows. Not as bad but yep still there. just one of those things that over time I guess it will go away, I mean after all whatever grease is there i guess it will go away soon. Hope I answered some of your questions.......take care
