Doing it yourself sounds better as my dealer has managed to rip two dashes in my car and another two have apparently arrived to be fitted that were already 'DAMAGED' so they couldn't fit either of them.I think that translates as'we've botched your original dash and the one you currently have plus another two into the bargain but we can't really admit that cos we'd look a little amateurish.

Any frabric store or craft store should carry felt tape. Or you can even use the soft side of Velcro.

Would doing this, in any way, affect the warranty on the car?

I've had a rattle in my Mini that's been to the dealer twice now and they only temporarily fixed it. Keeps coming back. I want to sort it myself but I'm not really a mechanicy person and want to make sure

a) it doesn't screw up my warranty
b) it's relatively easy to do for a non-experienced tinkerer and won't be too problematic.

Cheers
Ant

This should not void the warranty in my opinion for what it is worth

What I really want to know is how I can remove the black plastic part between the windshield and dash-top. The front end of the piece hits the winshield (just in front of the UV sensor) and makes a very bad rattle. All the other rattles that were coming from the dash were fixed when I removed the dash-top. I just cant access that little area between the winshield and the dash-top.

Any help would be appreciated!
