"check engine" icon light.... (SES) fuse location

ey guys, i just want to know if when you turn on the ignition but not start it, will this icon above the EML light should turn on? all the indicator lights seemed to turn on like the eml, airbag, brakes, runflat indicator, etc etc... and after a while it will go off... it's just that engine icon won't light... is that normal??? i've already tried to remove the fuse, the EML light won't turn on... (do they share the same fuse?) and the fuse is fine...

need help.... i'm a bit worried....

Engine light should turn on (mine does) It's something like check before turn the ignition on.
If I was in your shoes I will be going to check this out at my service.
Hope that help you

oh i see.. the problem is we don't have any mini dealer here in our country.... i have a diagnostic tool but it read "no faults"... what seems to be the problem? the other indicator lights including the EML turned on but not the engine icon.... might be the fuse or something... but i'm not sure where the fuse for this indicator is located... i removed one and the EML did not light so i put it back in... anyone knows where the fuse for this engine indicator located?

I've experienced the same problem as you but mine is 523iSE not mini. I've sent my car to a BMW dealer last week and they said it was an air leak in one of the cable and they fixed it, and charged me £98 . But, when I picked my car up I noticed that nothing has happened (EML is OK but engine indicator didn't lit up). I called them again and fixed another appointment next week. By the way, did you find the solution eddie?
