Australia Remote key stops working

Hi guys

my keyless remote key stops working. I figured this out quit a while ago but havent had a chance to post a question about it.
I opened up the key and tested with new batteries. Sometimes the little LED light inside the key was on (which indicates that the key transmits signal) but most of the time it stays off when pressed.

Before anyone making any jusgement, I never put my key close to any magnets such as mobile phones and speakers and any other electrical stuff. I always put the key on its own in my pocket.

Any1 had the same problem? any fixes?

PS: I bought my car 2 years ago and didnt have the problem until last year..and yes my car is ut of warranty

i have had this happen to me before. i took my car back to the dealer because it was only six months old it turned out that my interior sensor in the mirror was broken and i needed a whole new mirror. i think it could have been my subwoofers that broke it but i didnt tell them that and it was done under warranty.
but most times the keys jus loose sync with the car and can be reprogrammed. there is a thread on here that tells you how to reprogramme them,
http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...emote+key+work
try that link see if its any help
also there has been some one who had water leek in through thier windscreen and made the sensor wet so the key didnt work, once it was dry it worked again.
