Paint job problem brand new mini

Hello_I just picked up my new black & white mini cooper and noticed today that strange whitish spots of varying size and shape had formed on the bonnet of the car. This car has been garaged in the 3 days since I bought it except while driving, of course. I took it back to the dealer and they are going to try to detail it to get them out.I noticed last night there are a lot of past posts about a similar problem when the car is viewed in the sunlight. I'm about to go deal with the dealer. Any suggestions? What if this new detail job doesn't correct the problem? What are my options? Thanks if anyone knows.[FONT=Arial[/font]

I didn't have any problem on my bonnet...however on the rear quarter passenger side, I have a small spot (maybe the size of a dime) that definitely didn't get sprayed with yellow paint...it has white paint & clearcoat. Otherwise, the paint appears fine.

The dealer is checking it out (and will fix it) when I bring my car in this Friday for its 10,000 mile check-up.

Not so bad on a yellow car, but I can't imagine it on a black car. Sounds like your dealer is on top of it though.

I had the same on my 02 Cooper, Dealer took 1 look and ordered a front end respray there and then.
Which I actually defered till the first service as I didn't want to be parted from my Mini.

re: paint job replys

Thanks everyone for your emails. It helps a lot. I am printing them to show my dealer and will post on how this is resolved.
