I have installed an aftermarket Sony CDX-T70MX MP3 CD Changer to my CooperS (built July '05) along with a connects2 interface (MBMS005) and everything works fine EXCEPT when you select a disc by pressing the buttons 1-6 on the head unit it starts playing but the display continues to read "CD CHECK" and you can't skip tracks or discs. The only way round it is to change to the radio and back again or turn it off and on again. Once it has played the first track it then displays the track number and everything is fine it just does it on the first track of each disc. I have replaced the interface with a new one but still have the same fault. Does anyone else have this fault?

I just ordered the adaptor and plan to use the same CD changer (already had that model from my last car). Once it arrives, I'll let you know. But it may be a week or two since it has to cross the pond. Chris

Well, after 2 screwups by the post office, I finally have the adapter. Plugged it in and it's working! I do get the CD CHECK, but only for a split second. Nothing like what you are describing. If the changer and adapter were working on your last MINI, it could be a bad HU. Definitely works on my June 05 build, so it should be fine for you too.

Can I ask what sort of HU have you got? It did work in my last MINI but that was a December 2002 build with a Minidisc HU wheras I now have a CD HU. Oh I don't know it's just quite annoying!

I've got a HK system actually, but it uses the same CD Boost HU. The Connects2 adapter that I have is the same model that you have as well. I would find somebody with the BMW changer and see if it works when plugged into your system. If it doesn't work properly, you should then be able to get the dealership to replace the HU. Even though you don't have their CD changer, you are entitled to a properly working CD Changer interface.
