Creative MP3 player

I've just bought a Creative Zen Touch and I've just bought a Mini Cooper (very exciting!). I've seen a few gadgets that would allow me to play MP3 in my car if it was an iPod, but I've not seen anything for the Creative version.
ANybody know of anything?

I have an IRiver, and I use the auxilary adaptor. It just plugs into the headphone jack on my player. It doesn't have the benefits of the ICE-link where it charges the player and you can scroll through the playlists, but you can still control the volume from the MFSW if you got that option. I do find that the sound comes across a bit soft, so I have to turn it all the way up on my player and crank it pretty high on the stereo as well. Hope that helps!

Yes, you'll want to go with the aux/in. Doesn't the creative have a true line out too? That's actually better than the headphone jack; no need to mess with the volume on the player itself, and no amp to distort the signal--that should sound great in your mini.

Another thing to consider--your head unit will play mp3, so you can also make mp3 discs--you can get 100 or so songs per disc.

An auxiliary adapter? Is that something you can buy or something that comes with the car? Sorry, I'm having a bit of a blond moment today!

The normal 'mini' or newministuff aux inputs won't fit your car
BUT
this one will if you don't have a cd changer
https://www.newministuff.com/new/sho...uctshow&id=180
It gives you a jack plug that goes into the headphone socket on your device, volume is controlled from the stereo, tracks on the device itself

So presumably I could buy that and have it fitted locally? I presume it isn't something a blond such as myself could fit!

Dead easy plug & play, have a look at my DIY on removing the radio.
Even I could manage that

Grrr

I've just spoken to my local car audio shop and they've said that for my car, there's no way of having my MP3 player hooked up to my stereo. He then went on to try and tell me the only way it could be done would be to buy a new stereo which has the aux output.
I'm guessing he was just trying to make me part with my money?

Trust Mikeythemini. He knows what he is talking about. It will work if he says it will. I just wish he was in Virginia, USA.

Yep, definitely. Although I think I'll get my boyfriend to do the installation....I'd probably end up taking the engine out or something!
Anyway thanks for the advice Mikey - we shall be following your DIY to the letter!

Mikey...just about to order the bits to attach my MP3 player to Mini but what's the difference between the three or four you have on your site? I followed the link on one of the posts on this thread.

Sorry to drag out an old thread but ...

I have an 02 MCS and I guess this is my only option as my boost doesn't have the aux out capability. Mikey ... is this the bit I need? (product ID 245 on your site as I can't post a link yet)
Do I have to pay VAT if I'm buying from Australia?
Is there an Aussie option? (the exchange rate is killing me as this cable ends up in excess of $150 by the time it gets here)

Just want to make sure before I part with the cash.

Cheers

Jas
