Want to upgrade my 2002 era stereo! Advice?

Hi everybody... I've got an '02, I need to look up the model number of my head unit, but it's one that my dealer told me was so old that it could not be fitted for the aux input. Basically, after 15 years of putting fancy 500w stereos in all my cars, I'm actually quite happy with the stock unit in the MINI, but I would REALLY like to be able to have an aux input for Mp3 devices, and I'm looking to get a Sirius system too. I would REALLY miss the steering wheel button controls, so I want something that still allows those to work. Any ideas? I've seen a few (newer) stock stereos on ebay, but wanted to make sure that the hookups in the car & such would match. Anybody know about this stuff or have any advice as to what model or even after-market model would be a good way to go? Cheap/used would suit me fine too. Thanks in advance for any help!

If you've got a Wave radio, you can go to www.newministuff.com and buy a Wave to Boost adapter, that will let you plug in a boost radio (the better of the 2 stock systems).

Apart from that, any Mini stereo should fit in perfectly with no problems at all. If you can get an 05 stereo they even have MP3 playing built in

Cheers,

Kev

Have a look at my FAQ at www.newministuff.com that will help you identify your stereo
I can add aux to all Mini stereos

I've been looking at doing this, does anyone have an idea what price they are? (Just for the single CD)
