Accent Lights-------------How and where?

My accent lights from Mike arrived today.
Talk about 1st class Del.
Ordered on Sunday. (late)
Del on Tuesday. (early)
And got my discount without asking,
No wonder he has such a good name

Now to the point of posting.

I would like to put these in the air vents on the dash.

Has anyone done this, and what is the best way of putting them in to the vent.
Also does anyone have any tips on where is the best place to take the power from.

Thanks

Glad to be of service
For the side vents just pop off the dash end covers & drill a small hole in the duct, a couple of inch beck from the vent & towards the top - then play around with angles once you have them wired up
The middle vents are a bit harder - remove the centre dash section & speedo then do the same
Wire them to the sidelight feed on the stereo or cig lighter.
The biggest problem with these is getting a decent pic as digy cameras dont pic them up well
Still one aof my favourite mods - subtle but cool - other minis seem so dark inside

Doesn't that cause huge disruptions in air flow?!

Might have to get some of these things, in fact, I think an email might be on it's way to you soon Mikey!

I found the centre one's the easiest to do, then came the driver side one, that was OK as well, but how the heck do you get to the passenger side one.

I can get the vent off ok, but the gap is so small to get the LED through and with the air bag next to it as well

Has anyone managed to to this as well, if so how did you get the LED in place?

Also where did you earth it to?

Thanks.

Will try to take some Pic's Later when its dark.

Managed to take a couple of photos.

As mike said it would be hard to take a photo with a digge cam.

May try in the twilight of the evening, see if they come out better.

How do you pull apart an '05 dash and wire these up (which wires)?

To do the central vents - just pull the centre section of the dash out as per your chromeline DIY
To do the side vents just unclip the dash end trims when the doors open. You can get a drill in & do a small hole near the top of the vent pipe. Then wire all the leds - one side to chassis the other side to the sidelight wire on the stereo (orange on my hanress adaptor) Grey/ ??? on the factory harness

We pulled Lewis' dash apart tonight... got scared, put it back together... It was a late start and he hadn't really planned it out... We went to the pub instead.

Not sure how long I'll have mine so, apart from wing mirror caps, I'm not sure I'll do any other modding!
