Question Ice Link Plus and Sat Nav

Does anyone out there have the Ice Link Plus, Sat Nav and MFSW. I can get my ipod to play and display ID3 tags on the Sat Nav but seem to have problems controlling the thing and selecting tracks etc. I'm not sure what CD Disk button selects what and how I can scroll through tracks etc.....

Also when in split screen it seems to spend most the time showing the ID3 tags and only occasionally flashes up the map?

I have searched but can't find anything relative. If not I'll have a word with Mikey tomorrow

Hi aharte
I have an '05 MCS with sat nav, MFSW, BOOST radio with single CD player (ridged volume control) plus iPod 3G and Icelink plus.
Like you the split screen shows a lot of ID3 tags and from time to time the map. On other occasions I get no ID3 tags and just regular map info.
Selecting playlist thru' the radio buttons works as does selecting tracks from tth MFSW.

I figure this is about as good as it gets ?

btw Icelink plus is running V22b2 and my satnav also has the latest FW installed.

Hope this data point helps you out.

Mikey - any comments / pointers ?

Tim, In a way it's good to hear it's not just me, but a bit of a let down on the selection front. I would like to have it display on the head unit rather than the sat nav if it's going to screw it up that much. The only compromise I can see is to set up playlists and stop the ID3 tags going to the sat nav and the at least you can select them off of the track 1-5 buttons?

If you hear anything better let me know? I give Mikey a call on the 28th and see if he has any better ideas and let you know.

Regards
Tony

I agree 100% with mikeythemini !

Seems running text to the satnav causes all sorts of strange things to happen - for instance we were stopped, engine running, ipod playing and satnav showing a map.
Then for no reason the satnav thought the mini was rotating on the spot and then it drifted off into never never land rendering the satnav totally useless.
So I've turned the text display off and as my Boost HU can't display the tags either seems I'm SOL !
When the text was working it took over the map display which I believe is a fundemental limitation.
IMHO for the price, overall more work is needed on UI integration and code debug to make a viable worthwhile product.
For now it's 'just ok' but debatable if it's worth the $$$$

Same here, I basically killed the text all together as it seemed pointless with it overtaking my Nav. So, I made a playlist of songs and simply run it rather than try to see the text. It is a decent product, but it does need some work on the firmware side.
