Sirius Direct Connect + Mini 2k with CD Changer

I searched the forum and didn't find an answer to this question...

Can a Mini 2002 with a CD Changer be fitted with one of the direct connect systems like the one in this link?

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pione...oductDetail.do

Thanks for any help.

I'd like to know the same thing - I got a Sirius unit for XMAS and the installation instructions say you need a 6 inch radius of roof metal for the antenna to work properly. There ain't that much if you have a sunroof!!

My Mini Dealer has never installed one - their advice was to try to use the existing antenna (I don't think so!!).

Right now I am looking at 2 options - next to the existing antenna, or on the hood...

For what it's worth, a friend of mine has Sirius on his motorcycle - so maybe you don't need all the ground plane all the time. This is in Texas, and I think Sirius is a geostationary satellite over the equator, so the importance of the antenna installation is probably proportional to how far North you are...

What you're asking is different from what I need to know.

I was asking about the "direct connect" units that work with your cd changer interface.

For you, there are many threads on here that cover your topic....but to help you out....just put the antenna whereever there is space. Don't worry about the 6 inches of clearance.

I have a sunroof and I installed mine fine.
