Chrome interior..

Hi!

I really like the chrome interior on the new Minis (extra option), but I don't have that option on my car. Do you know if it's possible to fit the chrome parts to a Mini Cooper S 03? In that case, where can I get these parts?

You can get the parts from BMW which are retro fit or you can get the whole kit of ebay.

I'd go with the official BMW stuff, which covers all aspects apart from the rev counter at a very reasonable cost (they only sell that as a complete part, expensive), you can source them from a dealer, or www.newministuff.com also sell it packaged as a set. You can get the rev counter ring aftermarket (which clips on instead of replaces) quite cheaply too.

Then I'll go for the official stuff, however, what is the rev counter?

I bought an unofficial chrome trim that just sticks on top of the standard rev counter

Tachometer/rev counter, on the steering column (see above).

Ordered the whole set from newministruff.com earlier on this evening... little pricey but everyone seems to like him, and it's another M2 user!

One question - is this hard to fit on, or does it simply clip-on, and clip-off?

Cheers

Jay

With mine everything on the dash apart from the rev counter just required a strong twist and pull. The originals are just clipped on, although for the speedo I think there was a small amount of glue (might be wrong). The rev counter trim just sticks over the trim you already have

The gear lever area bits again just clip on and off, nothing too difficult.

Once you have taken the originals off and know how they clip, it should be really easy to swap and change in the future

Serby,

Nice one, I'll take the kit with me when I pick up the car next Tuesday!!! Already my mods list is growing... 50% tints for the fronts to go with the factory fitted ones, and the motor's already booked in for the 'driving lights'.

It's going to be awesome!
