Parrot 3000 Evo Microphone Mounting

Hi Everyone,

I'm picking up my MCSC on the 1st March, and having read a few posts in this forum, I'm quite keen on fitting the Parrot 3000 Evo kit as I have specified the MFSW. I have a few questions for those who have installed it:

1) Where did you mount the interface box? Does it go near the radio, or do you have it tucked somewhere else?
2) Where did you mount the microphone? I'm looking to put it somewhere discreet, preferably in a similar location to that used by BMW for the factory fitted phone kit. Any photos here would be a bonus!
3) I have a Samsung D600e, and as this doesn't have voice dialing, I am presuming that the only way I can initiate a call is from the phone itself. Has anyone had experience of using this kit without a voice dialing phone?

Many thanks!

I installed one of these yesterday.

1) Once all the wiring and kit is fed back through the head unit it's really easy to move it all to house behind the knee bolster

2) Put the mike up by the top of the a pillar and then run the wire down inside the rubber moulding - then it can go into the space behind the knee bolster and connect to the parrot box.

3) Correct - I have a Blackberry that doesn't support voice dialing. So you can answer and end calls and adjust volume. I was able to record "Hang Up" as a voice control but that was it.

Great piece of kit though.....good luck. Only takes about an hour to install - if that.

Here's where I put mine

I have the CK3000 (non-EVO) and put the mic over where the factory mic would have gone. I tried putting it IN that mounting but the sound quality was very poor.

Regarding voice dialing, the CK3000 (don't know about the EVO) supports this itself so the phone doesn't have to. To train it you need to install the Parrot control pad in addition to the MFSW kit and follow the Parrot directions.

I did this even though my phone supports voice dialing as the commands recorded in the phone didn't work in a moving vehicle. Using the CK3000 allows a second set of names to be recorded that match more reliably in the vehicle.
