Chrome gearstick surround

I'm getting some dark grey real leather (instead of the horrible light grey vinyl!) gear and handbrake gaiters, and while I'm at it I'm also considering replacing the silver plastic gearstick surround with a chrome one (metal).

I've got alloy patina, which as you know has bits and bobs of plastic silver around things, with alloy patina on the main dash and doors.

I just don't know how it will look, if this one piece of metal in the middle of the car will look stupid, and if there'll just be too many different shades/materials inside.

Has anyone just changed the gearstick surround to chrome and nothing else? Any pics?

You could always compliment it with a few other bits of chrome, perhaps chrome handbrake and the cup holders ?
Ive added pretty much all the chrome interior aftermarket its quite cheap now!
for what its worth id buy it see how it looks if not ebay it you'll not lose a lot of money if its still new!

Good idea...

I've already got a leather/chrome handbrake grip and whalen shift knob, maybe thinking about the chrome ring top on the gearstick surround (ie. not the whole thing chrome), get it and see how it looks. Then maybe order cup holder rings afterwards!
