might be best to just order a new dial trim from your dealer, can't imagine it being an expensive part

The tacho rings aren't available separately though?

The tach ring is available separately only in chrome. It is exasperating that the factory anthracite ring (included with Piano Black interiors) is not available separately. There is a writeup on painting the ring anthracite: http://home.comcast.net/%7Esfconnell...hring/home.htm

there are some car shops that can do this, even adjust the matt levels, that is an option, take a peice in to match to and bingo

I know there is one near me in Keighley that does this

down tubes come out fairly easy, and I know the central sat nav ring in mine does if you pull up the centre peice of the dash

oh might be worth checking out www.newministuff.com I am sure Mikey has some how to on there on how to take bits off

The bit quoted in your post doesn't exist - has this site really got to the stage that even a bit of humour gets deleted

oh i dont mind mike, i took the hint and kept it clean after that...the post, that is

cheers rakey, i've got to tighten the nuts on the side of my tubes after sticking my head unit in. They squeak a bit when my leg presses against them in the tight bends.

May as well do this at the same time.

I wonder what the tooling costs are in getting some of them made and sprayed up....there's got to be quite a few anthracite dashes out there that are just begging for a matching ring. Wonder what the legality issues are.

Pity CF is so damned expensive as i would love to do the whole inside of the car (and this wouldnt be an issue)...not for any other reason than i quite like it's look.

tooling costs would be high, a better plan would be to just get a paint match and sell that, obviously not on here though unless you were a sponsor

I never noticed my ring was a different colour. Now I know it looks out of place.

Do you think its the same as bmw Anthtracite (Antrazit) as bmw do spray cans part no 51 91 1 052 649

looks similar
