I could easily figure it out for you in a few minutes if I did not live so gfar away A meter can tell you if the signal line is open - that would be my guess. That oil temp sensor is simple VDO drain-plug unit, like this: ![]() If they replaced that, I say open connection or bad ground. Then the gauge.
