Oil Temp Guage No workee

I have an 04 with the dealer installed guage package. The oil temp guage stopped working, the dealer just replaced the sender a few weeks ago, but it still doesnt work. Any suggestions?

Take it back to the dealer again?

Could be a second bad sensor.
Could be a bad connector on the sensor.
Could be a pinched wire.
Could be a bad indicator.

Could be bad luck.
Could be bad karma.

Both bad luck and karma at my dealer. Trying to switch to another.

Most every time an electrical thingy has gone bad on my older cars, it's been a bad ground...

Like Science Guy said - any one of those. I could easily figure it out for you in a few minutes if I did not live so gfar away

A meter can tell you if the signal line is open - that would be my guess. That oil temp sensor is simple VDO drain-plug unit, like this:

If they replaced that, I say open connection or bad ground. Then the gauge.
