Pioneer x1 installation

Theres a few threads on here but a few are american etc, i want to install an x1 in my 51 plate Mini Cooper.
I know ill need the Radio fitting kit from Mikey (iso leads, radio antenna adaptor etc)
From what i understand, you put the headunit in as any other headunit, there are then cables that run to a hideaway unit. Ive heard a good place is under a front seat, which ones best/easiest? How do i route the wires there?
I then beleive you have to link it to a speed pulse wire, which i thinks on the drivers side sill? and the reverse wire? and the handbrake wire? Then you have to place the GPS antenna, ive read under the dash is a place. Then thats it......what i really want to know is, is it tricky running wires to all these places?

Sorry for the long post. I have installed head units, amps, speakers in previous cars but navigation is new to me...
Thanks

For ease of lifting the carpet the left side underseat is the place, BUT then the speed pulse has to run all the way round to the other side.
So then you could fit it under the right seat, you cant lift the carpet as high but you will still get the box in. Then get the speed pulse easy & you can actually get the reverse wire on the right side too
BEware - dont switch the key on whilst the seat is disconnected - so reconnect before you try to test your new nav.
If you are fitting the hideaway under the carpet under seat then remove the foam from the underside of the carpet so the box can breath & doesnt overheat.

Oh and yes the gps can go under the dashtop

Its installed now....
I connected the speed pulse but it doesnt seem to be picking anything up from it. The connect i used was on the drivers side and had two wires going into it both green/yellow, would it make a diffierence if i chose one from the other, i could test the wire on installation due to the passenger seat being out and would have set the airbag light off.
Any ideas?
Also did the same with the reverse wire, as there were a lot of blue/yellow wires going into that connector i was unsure which one to chose, but i dont know if i have chosen the right one either?
