 alarms??????? my mini needs an alarm fitted, can anyone help? would prefer a genuine part but am unsure if this is possible now can anyone help cheers Nathan   |

 I'm having an alarm system installed when my Mini finally arrives but not the one offered by the dealer. After looking at several systems I prefer to get one that alerts me via a 2 way transmitter, if someone is tampering with the car. If I'm at the back of a store, etc., I want to know, even if I can't hear, that my alarm is triggered. Just my opinion  |

| The standard alarm that MINI sells is a dealer install. This means that you can get it done locally. It arms with the keyfob and has a high pitch siren (not the horn). Install takes a day (by the dealer) and dealer is required to activate. After market can be done, but I would be very careful about who you let do it as the electrical system is this car is very sensitive to outside devices. |
