MINI sat nav - retrofit?

Hey - may be a silly question but is there any way i can fit the MINI sat nav into my MINI - can this be done, because I don't see it as an option on the accessories list.
Cheers, Olly

Not to my knowledge.... There is a ton of wiring that would have to be done and a lot of parts to be bought. I would imagine that it would cost more than it would be worth. Have you thought about a Tom Tom?

It has been done, there's a guy on here who did it a while ago. It's a big job though, and not for the faint hearted

I bought a Road Angel a while back so I can't run both from out of the cigarette lighter - plus would be getting a bit crowded on my dashboard! Yeh, if it is possible I dread to think of the price!

I suppose that anything is possible. However, it might be cheaper to get one of those NAV radios with the flip up screen.

Get a wireless PDA and Tom Tom...cost about £400-£500 but multi use and can take a sim for a telephone too! Inbuilt GPS HP6515 or 6510 I think. L;ooks cool too!

Theres a sat nav setup MINI one on ebay.co.uk at mo! Looks likena lot of wires, a pro install in my view....and thats gonna cost cash ontop of the £600 the guys looking for for the stuff!

huge job, huge cost, lots of time, much better to get a portable device or different Head Unit and then consider having the nav on the next MINI

wow a huge job then - might as well buy a new MINI with sat nav alreayd installed for that price ! Sort of what I was expecting I guess. Not a big fan of the flip out screens, don't they cover the speedo?

I have the Mini Sat Nav in mine.....does the job but personally would opt for a aftermarket navi.

I fitted a Blaupunkt Travelpilot Exact nav unit in my Mini last week, it's very good, and cost the same as a Tom Tom portable, plus the SQ of the radio and CD are better than the standard Boost CD player.
