Nav v27 upgrade + ice link = Artist/Song on screen! (+ other pix inside)

But~ unfortunately, they use the Speed Dial screen and only displays 10+(?) characters.
No Scrolling Text...
and you cant see the Nav while the iPod is playing. No matter what i do, (exit to menu or whatever) within a few seconds, it goes back to the "Speed Dial" screen.

This is the first time i've upgraded the Nav Firmware, (skipped v26) and noticed that the menu options are a little different. If its been covered already, sorry.
But in Nav view,
the options are now limited to: directions, map positioning, destination input map and scale.
You need to go to the Nav-mode without the map to get the full options:
Input Destination, Directions, New Route, Route Map (to view the map), Route Preference and Information.

The Nav options maybe a bit different for the US upgraders, i swapped out the info files with the UK one cuz i like her voice better. =)
I'm so proud of my baby! She speaks "proper" english, spanish and french now!... maybe theres a way to do Japanese too? that'd be awesome!!

Quick car specs:
05 MSC, US, HK (wave?), with pre-ID3 tag display HU.
Ice Link.

Are you using the 2b2 icelink firm ware? If so you can send the text to the nav unit so it does not pop up the speed dial menu. When you turn on text it asks you to pick a cd button to confirm. pause and wait. Normaly the speed dial cd button pops on the screen first but if I wait the real cd button is displayed.

Yep, this has been covered before, but I am glad that you are excited about the upgrade. I think it is one of the better ones that BMW has released.

does the b2b version get rid of the random button?
ive been having a h*ll of a time trying to get my v2.04 to upgrade. ive tried to do 2.07 many times with different methods and they all failed.
