Carrying stuff in back

As I've just got the JCW leather seats, and I often cart stuff around in the back (that has scratched the old seats a bit), obviously I'm a bit worried!!

Is there anything I can get to put behind the front seats, some sort of divider or something, to stop anything I put in the boot/back seats touching the front seats?

The removable parcel shelf will do the trick. Take it off and place it with the semi-circular cutout pointing towards the floor. That way, it fits over the central tunnel and stays in position to protect (some of) the front seat-backs..

Hope this helps.

Good idea!!

But I often carry amps/keyboards/big boxes etc., not sure if the parcel shelf's depth will be high enough to protect the seats much?

Yup, not man enough for that, really. But you could use it as a template to make something deeper....

You can also get a cargo net to secure your load. I do this and it generally works pretty well.

Or I guess one of those large blankets you can get from Halfords would stop the seats getting damaged?

HI,
I bought a couple of fleece blankets from Jack Wolfskin (sure they can be had cheaper, but these are super nice) just after I bought my Cooper partly for emergency warmth and partly to protect the interior.

Had loads of luggage in the back over Xmas period including a snowboard bag and drove about 3000miles without getting a mark on the interior - 1 blanket for everything to lay on, 1 blanket to cover and tuck everything in. The added advantage is no-one can see what's in the back.
I always keep them folded up in the boot, good for even stopping groceries etc bouncing around..

I hear you on the big heavy boxes issue - wouldn't want any of my similar stuff going in the back of the Mini.......I'm lucky enough that it gets trucked everywhere for me..

Cheers, Geoff.

Good idea, think I'll get 2 then, to be on the safe side.

If I got a mark on my JCWs I'd kill myself
