Retro Fitting a Glovebox - Key Specific?

This may seem like a stupid question, so i apologise in advance, if i was to retro fit a glovebox, is the lock barrel on the handle key specific? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

you can remove the lock barrel and transfer to a new glovebox, its a bit fiddly, and you need the original key.or you can order a new lock/key from the dealer with a chassis number

In that case, I wonder if the locking glovebox (a facelift change) will only accept facelift keys...

both keys are the same..
it is only the head of the key that is
different...you just have to change the bits inside
or order one to suit your key..should be easy enough
to change though.....
