newministuff iPod question

Hi Guys,

I've just bought the latest generation iPod (with video) and I want to get the connectors so that I can use it in the car.

I'd like to be able to store the iPod in the glovebox out of view, and use the stereo controls to control it. It would also be nice if the stereo display could display the track playing (but this is optional).

Can someone let me know what the best product is from newministuff, and whether they'll be able to install it for me (whereabouts are they in the country?).

Ooh, a rough price would be good to supply and it.

Can't help with location, but either the factory IPOD adapter or the Dension Icelink will work and Mikey can fit it I believe.

It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Bought an Icelink+ from newministuff - followed mikey's DIY instruction for stereo removal & Icelink fitting - it worked perfectly right from word go (inc. trackilisting once setting adjusted in Ipod).

Time spent taking car to bits, fitting Icelink, putting back together and setting up = 1hr & 4mins - and TBH I didn't exactly rush becasue it's the first time I'd disassembled the dash/fittings & didn't want to damage anything.

I would recommend this kit to anyone

Yes, I can - your profile says you've got an 05 model with Boost, so you should be able to as well (attached pic is of "Ocean Colour Scene - The Riverboat Song" part way through scrolling around.

Mines an 05 cooper and mine want do that how come? I have H/K system (CD Boost), and a third gen ipod. I am well miffed now,

do the titles not work on the previous boost with little volume knob?

It has to do with the year that the radios were manufactured. 05 and above HU's should be able to do ID3 tags. They use the phone channel to show tags on the screen.

just got my MCS with Boost - want to fit the Icelink Plus but i was wondering if it was possible to just have the iPod mounted in the boot and attached to the changer cable that is already there?

will i need to run anymore cables?

i know - i will keep searching the forums for the answers too.....

If you don't mind the IPod in the boot, then there is nothing further to run. You just need the trunk mount version of the Icelink Plus.

Just installed an icelink plus in my '06 S with boost CD. Really like it, iPod tucked away out of sight and all the controls (and text) via the head unit. Very neat. Very easy to install too, would have been easier with instructions (2nd hand), but such is life).
