Anyone seen the new Tom Tom units out, they look pretty good, anyone planning on getting 1 of these?

I knew these were coming, so I went and bought one of the old 700's at a knock down price. I'm taking a chance that the new 910 is at least the price of old 700 before it was discounted heavily. I hope that I haven't done the wrong thing

Tigger.

I like the human traits voice technology that will actually read out street names. Now that is trick.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Hi mate hows u!
Yeah but will it sound too computery

I think I will invest in a 910, I like the light sensor on the top of the unit, simple but effective solution to glare on screens in different conditions and dark mode at night

Hi There!

I have pre ordered mine! I have gone for the 910, couldnt resist the 20G hard disk! (Just sold off my 700)

Does anybody know what the subscription costs are for RDS/TMC (Trafficmaster)? Tomtom are releasing an antenna which will apparently pick up traffic data for free (rather than through your mobil/bluetooth via GPRS). However I have heard you will have to pay subscription to get these traffic signals? I really wanna use this feature as the mobile/bluetooth function isnt great, and of course costs extra money.

Does anybody know what the subscription fee would be if it was needed? Ive heard £120 per year, certainly not worth it for the everyday Joe!

Yes, doing well. How you doing.

Link to samples but these are worse quality than the real thing apparently.

£120 is a bit steep, I guess worth it if you are a heavy user for business for instance.

Whens yours due for delivery?

Isn't TMC barred from the UK other than from BMW/MINIs. Someone told me this a few months ago.

Don't think so as it's an independant company unless BMW have bought the company?

Hey There,

Initially I was quoted late April, but this has now changed to mid to late May. Tomtom havent released any yet, and I have noticced that the models have disappeared off their own web site! (I hope only for updating etc!?) I really hope there aren't any longet hold ups. Would like to have it now the good weather is creeping in!

The new units looks great. I still can't decide whether to go for a Tom Tom or whether to get the factory-fitted nav. The fact that Tom Toms are about 100 times better and much cheaper should make it a no-brainer, but I'm stilling leaning towards having it built in...
