Will a new Radio Boost need a code to work?

If I replace my Radio Boost with another (mine's got a fault, and putting a cheap replacement unit will be cheaper than getting the main dealer to find and fix the real fault) will the new one just plug in and work...without a security code??

I've got the stereo manual and it says "The equipment has an automatic anti-theft alarm system. Manual input of a security code is not required".

What's the 'Automatic anti-theft alarm system' mean?

The radio is normally configured to use "iBus" as the security - so long as it's installed properly in a MINI, it will be fine.

However, it's possible to reconfigure it to need a security code instead - just hope the previous owner didn't do that. Or, make sure it comes with the code card.

So that's what the anti-theft system is then? ie it'll only work in a mini provided it's configured to use ibus?
