Welll I only have a 4gb mini and use it everyday ! It is a superb piece of kit. It works so simply and the quality of the standard earphones is excellent.
I keep topping up my iTunes with new stuff, oh and the most played is Beastie Boys 'Grasshopper unit' sheer class !

I have an iPod and love it. The iPod and iTunes operate so easily it is very convenient.
However quality is an issue. I had already tried various mp3 coders but the results were
awful. So I swapped to iPod and while AAC was better it was still wasn't that good. I now
use Apple Lossless and while better again it just isn't up to CD quality when played on
my home system. It certainly isn't lossless! However in the harsher environment of a car
the quality is less of an issue unless you are listening while waiting with engine off. I also
use it when walking and with a set of Koss Sparkplugs it's good enough. I do fill up my
Mini iPod when using Lossless. I wouldn't be without mine but it does have limitations.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

I bought one - thinking I would never use it (my boyfriend talked me into it)
I now hardly ever buy cd's anymore -- I'm just now interfacing it into my mini (tonight actually). I use it for gardening, working around the house, I have the bose thing it sits in - wonderful. Can't say anything bad about it. My boyfriend has the nano -- we put tv shows on it and use it on the plane when we fly. It sounds ludicrous to look at a tiny little screen - but it rocks. We plug it into the tv and watch desperate housewives when we have the time.
you must get one -- don't live without it. I think the Itunes itegration is really what makes it easy to use. Just buy music and it downloads to your ipod automatically. Much cheaper than buying cds - also.

I also bought a set of Koss Sparkplugs for my iPod and I really like them! They sound so good and are so comfortable!

I bought a 30GB Video IPod when i started planning what accessories I would install on a new MINI (ordered about 10 days ago). I had never ripped a CD or downloaded a song previously. However, with the CD changer costing about $550, I decided to buy the IPod ($300), get an adaptor for the MINI ($150 - $200 to be installed by me), and a wired-in FM modulator for my Subaru Outback for about $125 (that is the only way to install it on a 05), it was an easy decision and I can easily use my music in either car. I have about 350 CDs on the IPod and have used about 14 GB. I still have to spend time and create playlists, but one playlist is everything on the IPod, and I still haven't gotten through the 4,000+ songs the first time. It is amazing not having to listen to what passes for music on commercial radio (except maybe some college stations). ITunes is a free download from Apple, and is easy to learn- no learning curve to be able to rip CDs and download them to your IPod.

You can buy JBL Creatures on ebay for around £50. They are home speakers which consist of a big 'darth vaders head-looking' sub and two smaller pilot speakers. I'm chuffed with mine, well worth lookin at if you have an ipod and want to use it at home.

you do need one, just think you could sell the CD changer and put that towards the cost of it

Anything I have in my collection worth listening to I put on my iPod. My wife is bugging me to start clearing some space by ditching some of the 700+ CDs that have now been gathering dust for over a year, such is the dominant position the iPod and iTunes pair now have for my music listening.

The real gravy on the meat and potatoes though: podcasts. I don't think I've switched on the radio more than twice in the past six months, such are the wonderful options available.
