probelm solved well kinda anyway. The JCW handbrake grip is not a direct replacement and therefore it requires to be built up in some way before the grip will stay in place.

I was surprised when johncooper garages told me that this morning you would have thought it would be a direct replacement fit.

"Build it up???"

You mean, build it up...like wrapping the metal handbrake handle with pvc tape or the like to get the JCW grip to stay in place??? Not good ! -Bob

Build it up I was advised to wrap the handbrake round with masking tape to make it thick enough so the grip will stay on.

As yet this is not the "BMW" offical part this is from "John Cooper" Garages. As it turns out I should never have got the part via Mail Order as it is not allowed but I did get it

So hopefully the offical Grip when it comes out will be a direct replaement.

Haven't installed mine yet

I'm waiting on a new set of custom leather shifter and e-brake boots before installing my works e-brake handle. I wish the shifter and e-brake handle were available without the WORKS logo. I think they might sell a lot more of them, sans logo. I guess I better make sure I have a roll of masking tape at the ready incase I need it for this install. Would you happen to have the BMW part # for that tape??? -Bob
