| DPSM (digital power sound modul) - Performance and cost - Opinions please? Hi,
I have just bought my first mini (Cooper S hb/hb & white viper stripes) and being a keen with car audio i have been looking at the DPSM (Digital Power Sound Modul) system (not keen on after market as I'm fed up with getting out the car and having to carry a headunit, sat nav, phone and keys around with me.
The dealer fit retro kit including labour is £1770. My plan was to buy parts only (£995) and fit myself which i am confident in doing as I'm a bit of a keeno with cars (if you see S33BBY's first mini, the sound system was installed by me so i know a bit about the mini).
Today i received a call from the dealer and due to the fact that in the last two months my family has bought two expensive minis with extras and also that they are keen to do the first DPSM system there they have offered to fit the system for £1250 (a big discount).
My question is this:
I have agreed to this at the moment but is the extra £255 it will cost me worth paying to have it all fitted by mini so that i have my warranty still intact for the car and a warranty in place for the system?
Alternatively am i better to same the money and have 6 hours of fun fitting it myself?
Some opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot
