Component Speakers, Door install DONE!

Finally got my Pioneer TS-C160R speakers speakers installed.
Here are some pics (apologies to dialup users):
Drivers with custom made oak adapters:

Speaker wire connection:

Driver installed:

Door panel, crossover and speaker:

Finished door panel with surface-mounted tweeter:

I'm very happy with how it all turned out. Sound is EXCELLENT, but it was very time consuming, mainly making those adapters. Feel free to post any questions.
There's more pix where those came from.
Cheers
-John

I used the following power tools to make them:
Table saw, compount mitre saw, jig saw, palm sander, spindle sander.
Took about 5 hours just to make the adapters.

Yes, PITA!!!

Done such a nice job of the oak just a shame no one will see them. Impressed, neat install. .

Just not sure visually about the tweeters. Might be nice to get them on the windscreen pillars. You could use the spare set of speaker leads in the door plug to get the crossover output to the top.... Sorry. I've hidden mine behine the normal tweeter grilles but must admit that they are not in the best place.

Thanks Gary.

The tweeters are attached with double-sided foam sticky tape in case I decide I don't like where they are (although sound and imaging are excellent). I may do something to mount them in the stock location and cut a hole some how through the screen where the stock tweeters lived.

I really don't want to take everything apart again to do the A Pillar mount...

What size are the tweeters? 1"?

You may be able to angle them inside the pod in the doors...

They are 1"
I have some of that oak left over. I'll make some brackets in place of where the stock tweeters go and mount the cups, then cut a hole in the stock covers.
I'll post my results (good or bad)
Thanks for the ideas.
