Burn to a CD using Mode 2 at slowest speed and then pop it in to the nav drive with the key in first position then wait.

Hi would someone who has a working disc of V32 be so kind as to post it to me, I do not have a clue what "mode 2" means and I know I will just mess it up.

Thank You

hi can anyone help I have a problem with my sat nav I have a 02 mini cooper s Hannam editon with built in sat nav sw 3 - 1 /50 I know this is old version but has worked fine getting me where I want to go but just lately it does not seem to take me in the right direction in fact it takes me in the opposite direction to which I want to go. Comming home from Cornwall at the weekend it took me in the sea when I left Mevagissey, everything elses seems fine. I cannot find the unit under any of the seats is it hidden away under the carpet or what. Please can anyone help as I just do not know what to do next.
Thank you. Gill

Have you checked the settings to make sure that the most direct route is selected. (I can't remember the exact terminology). For instance, if you have it set to avoid motorways, it may take you in a weird direction.

Not that hidden, you have to look for it from behind the seat. You will see a lil black door almost. If you can not find it I will take a photo for you. I have latest software if you are local to London you can pass by and use them.

Hello all,

I have recently purchased a 52 registration Mini Cooper S with built in factory fitted computer and satnav navigation located under the drivers seat.

The problem i am haveing is that when put in the map cd, the drive automatically ejects the cd.

On the very very odd rare occasion the navigation options appear, but when attempting to use these options the cd ejects or the screen goes blank.

I have shown this to the dealer and tried my cd in another car and it worked fine, also when he tried another cd from another car in my system it did the same thing.

The mini dealer quoted me £1800.00 for a replacement drive as he was unable to determine what was wrong with my system. He also said he had never come accross this issue before ever and even checked with othere engineers whom said this was very first time this has been presented to them.

does anyone now what can be wrong or what i can to to have it functioning correctly again.

I thank you in advance.

You might try getting one of those DVD cleaner kits. It could be dust in the system.

If that doesn't work, there are other options to purchase a new unit rather than what the stealer quoted.

Dark Silver

i will try getting the cd professionally cleaned and use a lense cleaner, also i will try an updated cd which i have purchased.

if this does not work can i remove the drive from the car to show it to a professional, without it effecting the car or screen computer. By doing this will it give me more problems when i re-connect it.

regard

It is actually pretty easy to do..

1. disconnect battery (very important of you can trip the airbag light).
2. Remove seat
3. Pull back carpet and remove cover plate.
4. Disconnect unit and remove.

It is a box that can be pulled out easily and the connectors on the back can easily be removed. After that you could open it up and blow out the dust to see if that helps. If it still won't work after you clean it all up, then you are going to need a new unit.
